(clears throat loudly)
The 2010 Spring Semester, abridged:
Techno/Rave ensemble: Grew to love my T/R group in a very 80s high school movie sort of way ("Guys... it turns out, we're all the same inside.")(cue cheesy synth pop)
Abnormal Psychology: Talked about the phallic allusion that is Joe Camel. Don't believe it? Professor Eastman has an overhead of Joe Camel, and an overhead of a penis. They line up perfectly. I enjoyed watching someone walk in an hour late and turn around to see some guy's junk magnified on the front wall of the room.
401: Bonded with my favorite synth professor. I held the final class at my apartment- the prof brought a bottle of champagne and we listened to final projects. I wrote my first drum n bass track, and gave several lessons on lyric writing to the class.
Counterpoint: No comment.
History of Western Music: Professor Tom McGah, "Mozart was composing... and by the age of 35, he was decomposing."
339 (Composition and Sound Design for Commercial Production): Closest I've come to feeling like I'm on a reality show. Every week, the sick talented people in this class presented their work and we proceeded to rip each other apart. My ego is firmly in check. Once, Jeff Baust (teacher/guru/complete mystery) laughed at one of my jokes. My general feedback from him? "This is great, but completely not what the producer wanted. So you're fired." Apparently there's a Facebook group for those who have been fired most weeks in 339. Oh, social networking.
Misc: Tattoo. Sangria at Tapeo on multiple occasions. Age split between the youngest and oldest boy I kissed: 11 years. Played my first (and second) show. Discovered the world's best eyeliner (no really, it's noteworthy). Learned Ableton Live... like a new language. Saw Amanda's employer dance drunk on a table. Sang on a dub/reggae cover of a Neil Young song. Sang on a Ke$ha ripoff track. Joined Team Lady Gaga (late, I admit).
Philly on Thursday, then on the London on the 29th.
